Meet Dr. Debbie – After Treatment, She Can Hear In Church Again

My journey with tinnitus started probably 10 to 12 years ago. I incorrectly thought for many, many years that there’s nothing you can do for tinnitus symptoms – that there really is no hope, you just have to deal with it. When I saw the Hope Hearing & Tinnitus Center ad, I thought, “I’ve got to go.” The moment I spoke with the staff I thought, “This is a place that I need to come to.”

As a musician and singer, I came in here to be tested. I thought, “Yeah, hearing loss probably (isn’t the issue).” But no, it was moderate to severe. My very first visit at the Hope Hearing clinic I was greeted so warmly and kindly and I felt immediately relaxed when I came in. It made me want to stay and hang out longer.

Regaining the Ability to Hear Church Service Clearly

I go to church with my boyfriend and his daughter, and the way they call congregants into the sanctuary is by ringing a bell. I had never heard it until I got my hearing devices because I had profound hearing loss in certain high ranges. I’ll never forget the first Sunday I came to church after treatment and I heard the bell, and when my devices were put on for the very first day, I wept. I cried. I went, “Oh my gosh,” and they weren’t even turned up all the way.

I’ve seen improvement in my relationships. I am much more calm and I can actually hear conversations in a restaurant. It was overwhelming how much I must have struggled and how that probably just impacted my well-being.

I love that you don’t even see the devices, they design them in such a manner. They work so beautifully. It’s painless, easy, and you can see the report and then let them show you what treatment options there are for you.

What would I tell someone who’s thinking about scheduling an appointment? Do it today. Don’t wait. It’s painless, it’s easy, come in. It’s really been revolutionary for me.
